The History of Padel in Canada
The sport of padel in Canada had its beginnings in Calgary, Alberta. The sport was introduced to Canada in 1992. The Padel Association of Canada was founded in February 1992, as a federally incorporated Canadian Registered Amateur Athletic Association.
The first padel court was built in mid-1992 inside a Calgary warehouse, which operated for nearly one year. Padel moved to the Edgemont Club in northwest Calgary for 10 years playing on two brick walled courts. In 2003 PAC created its own headquarter courts at AE Cross school where unused tennis courts were converted to three wood-walled courts. APA currently runs the programs at PAC’s headquarters.
